Superb Work SWAS!

It was a real privilege for Search The Way to acknowledge the superb work of a number of senior South Westland Area School students in completing a Duke of Edinburgh's Award in 2023. Recognition of the students' success and presentation of a number of Duke of Edinburgh's Awards was made at the school's amazingly run Senior Prizegiving event recently held at the Hari Hari Community Hall.

Huge congratulations to the following SWAS students for completing the following Awards during 2023:

Gold Award: Maisy Glancy, Jorja Manera

Silver Award: Victoria Soutar

Bronze Award: Wiremu Rakete, Shea Lane, Andrea-Nichole Pangan, Shantel Brooks, Anna Nyland, Jack Glancy, Madeleine Dennehy-Coles, Rowi Goodwin, Sophie Soutar, Tana Alkorta.

Special acknowledgement to Maisy Glancy and Jorja Manera for being the first SWAS students in quite some time to go on and complete all three levels of the Award, an outstanding achievement and one that will pave the way and inspire others to follow in their footsteps. They are both looking forward to attending an official Gold Award ceremony and presentation attended by the Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro, Governor-General, in the near future.

Lastly, a massive thank you to all the wonderful staff of South Westland School, and the wider network of parents and community of South Westland, for your encouragement and amazing support towards all students completing the Award programme, this mahi is hugely appreciated. Our very best to all associated with the Award in the region for the next leg of your journeys in the year ahead. #dukeofednz
